I have always loved using my imagination to create unique characters and stories. For many years, I dreamed about publishing a book. The idea for this book began with a poem I wrote 15 years ago for my kindergarten classroom. The first two pages in My Special Friend: Adventures at the Zoo are the original poem. After my Special Friend was "brought to life," I knew he was ready for something big!

This story includes some of my favorite elements, such as rhyming, color, animals, silly things, and random facts . Some of the animals were specifically chosen as a special tribute to important people in my life.

I have loved going through the publishing process and am excited to share this story with you! Despite knowing exactly what the words say and what will be on each page, it still makes me smile and giggle. I hope this book brings you as much joy as it does to me.
